These are the system requirements for Sarotech’s point of sale program, SPOS.
Workstation/Client Requirements
Clients wishing to run SPOS as a standalone or client application will need the following computer specifications.
- Intel Dual Core processor, or better
- 2GB of RAM, 4GB or more recommended for standalone
- Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 operating system
Server Requirements
The requirements for running a SPOS server vary on the amount of users and data being processed. Typically, for maximum performance with a 10 user system, the recommended server requirements are as follows:
- Intel Dual Core processor, or better
- 2GB of RAM, 4GB or more recommended
- Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 operating system; a maximum of 10 concurrent users may access SPOS on this system.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (32/64-bit), 2008 (32/64-bit), 2008 R2 operating systems are also supported.
Network Requirements
A properly tuned network with 100 mbit connectivity is recommended for 25 users and more. For remote operability and access, a 1.5 mbit connection is strongly recommended. SPOS can also be deployed via RemoteApp, a feature available with Windows Server 2008 R2.
