These are the system requirements for Sarotech’s point of sale program, SPOS.

Workstation/Client Requirements

Clients wishing to run SPOS as a standalone or client application will need the following computer specifications. While it is possible to run SPOS on a Pentium II/III system, for optimal performance, a Pentium IV is highly recommended.

• Intel Pentium IV 2.0 GHz or equivalent processor, 2.4 GHz recommended for the standalone edition
• 256MB of RAM, 512MB recommended for standalone
• Microsoft Windows XP operating system

Server Requirements

The requirements for running a SPOS server vary on the amount of users and data being processed. Typically, for maximum performance with a 10 user system, the recommended server requirements are as follows:

• Intel Pentium IV 3.0 GHz or equivalent processor
• 512MB of RAM, 1GB recommended
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system; a maximum of 10 concurrent users may access SPOS on this system

Network Requirements

A properly tuned network with 100 mbit connectivity is recommended for 25 users and more. For remote operability and access, a 1.5 mbit connection is strongly recommended.
